Mala Making & the Magic of Mantras

Mantra is a Sanskrit word that means “protection”. Mantra recitation is an important – and some might say magical – aspect of meditation practice. In this class we will learn about the basics of mantra recitation, the good results that come from it, and how to incorporate it into your practice.

Malas, or prayer beads, are used when reciting mantras or prayers. For Buddhist practitioners, their personal mala becomes a blessed and meaningful object.

In this practical and hands-on workshop, we will learn the traditional technique of mala-making and go home with a completed mala. This is a great opportunity to make a hand-made meaningful gift to offer this holiday season.   Children are welcome!

Beads, and all other materials will be available, but you can also bring your own beads to use, if you wish.

Registration required to ensure we have enough supplies.

$25/$5 for members (covers class and supplies)
