Letting Go of Perfect
Breaking Out of the Cycle of Perfectionism and Self Criticism
So many of us suffer from an ongoing underlying sense of not being good enough, and a corresponding fear of failure that drives us to work hard. It seems like no matter how hard we work, or how much we try, and no matter what results we produce, we always end up feeling that we’re falling short. This happens in life in general, and in our spiritual practice. We can end up in a cycle of failure and disappointment, self-criticism and discouragement, and eventually hopelessness and resignation.
In this series we’ll take the time to look within to find the source of this painful pattern. Where does our need for perfection come from? Can we find true peace, satisfaction and joy? Through understanding and applying Buddha’s wisdom medicine, we’ll be able to transform our self-critical tendencies into compassionate acceptance, and joyful, confident, relaxed effort, in our life and in our spiritual practice.
