We understand the benefits of meditation. We know we feel better when we do it. So why is it so hard to sustain a consistent practice? It’s a common experience: We set out to practice new, good habits, but then we can’t get ourselves to actually follow through. This can be really frustrating and discouraging. We can feel disempowered and angry at ourselves, and then resort to using less skillful ways of motivating ourselves, such as self-criticism, fear, guilt or shame.
Fortunately, using Buddhist psychology, we can discover a gentle, encouraging way to motivate ourselves. This power comes through harnessing our own natural desires and wishes and aligning them with where we want to go in life. We discover this incredible, motivating power from within that is naturally moving us forward—free of guilt and “shoulds.” Very simply, we find motivation through JOY!
In this workshop we’ll learn how to maintain our motivation and create a steady meditation routine that works for us. We will also enjoy two short, easy meditations that are helpful for folks launching a new practice. This workshop is suitable for both beginners and long-time practitioners who need help cultivating a steady routine.
