Those Pesky Delusions
with Howie Geismar
Two goals we attempt to achieve in Buddhist practice are: to identify and reduce states of mind that lead to suffering; and cultivate minds that lead to happiness and peace.
We will explore those negative states of mind that produce suffering, called delusions, and the positive states of mind that lead to peace and happiness, called virtuous minds. We'll specifically look at what Buddha called the “three poisons” of attachment, anger and ignorance as causes of our suffering and also Buddha’s teachings on “The Four Noble Truths” as an explanation of and solution to our delusions.
